The Los Angeles Music Video Festival
We believe music videos are the most UNIVERSAL, ACCESSIBLE, ENTERTAINING art form in the world. And we want to celebrate them!
The LAMVF is a film festival for music videos, complete with categories of competition, a panel of professional judges, prizes, panels, keynote speakers, workshops, screenings, and live musical performances.
The 2nd annual Los Angeles Music Video Festival will be held over two evenings (May 4-5, 2012) at the beautiful Downtown Independent Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
PROGRAM:
The festival consists of screenings, awards, a fast-pitch contest, a live concert, panel discussions and a keynote speaker. DJ's spin, foodtrucks satisfy all tastes, and the lobby lounge is an all-day party. Our categories of competition include:
Comedy,
Narrative,
Non-Narrative,
Tribute &
Student
We receive submissions from all over the world (32 different countries!), and filmmakers fly to LA to see their work on the big screen. Panels have included music video commissioners from major labels, managers, producers and up-and-coming directors who are breaking new ground as the next generation of music videos comes to the cultural fore.
This year our afterparty/concert will benefit OMG Cameras Everywhere! a non-profit arts program that introduces LA-area kids to the art of music video making, and encourages them to experiment creatively, learn new skills and develop confidence in their work and their own imaginations.
For a limited time, we are offering a pre-sale FESTIVAL PASS that includes both days of screenings AND our benefit concert for just $20.
Details on performers & speakers for this year's fest coming soon!
